Admissions Information

Edenderry Nursery School is situated in the Shankill area of North Belfast. We can be found on Lanark Way, opposite the filling station. We are so proud of our brand new, purpose built building. We are able to offer a pleasant, cheerful and child centred experience to all our pupils and families. Within the school there are two classrooms that are well equipped and resourced with toys that young children love. Each classroom has access to a children's toilet area, story room and storage space. Outdoors we have two amazing garden play areas and a canopied space that is partially covered. We also have a resource area, a multi purpose room, Office, School meal's servery and Utility Room
School life revolves around the belief that each child should be given every opportunity to develop to their full potential, to grow in self-confidence, experience success and thus develop a good self-image. This is achieved through genuine working links with parents with the free sharing of information and also a complete and thorough curriculum. We greatly welcome parents into our practice and place a strong value on home and school links. Parents can participate in school life, access workshops and courses and enjoy learning themselves. At Edenderry Nursery School your child will be encouraged to develop at their own rate in key areas of learning - social/emotional, language/communication, creative/aesthetic, mathematics, the world around us and physical skills. The school programme is enriched by visits outside the school and welcoming relevant guest speakers and experts to come in and meet our children. We value and enjoy strong community and cross-community partnerships.
We have an innovative and friendly staff team who are highly motivated, qualified and dedicated to every child's well being and learning. The maximum number of children that can be enrolled in the school is 52, 26 in each classroom. Children generally attend the school for one year before going to Primary School. Both classrooms operate a 'through day' which means the children will attend from 9.00 am to 1.30 pm each day. Staff hours are from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm and staff are available to see parents outside teaching hours. Funding permitting, the nursery school also offers a summer club.
Parents who are considering making an application for a nursery place are welcome to contact the school office at the above address or telephone number for guidance..
